Streamlining automotive paint booth operations, Vairify ensures Grade D breathing air is provided to meet stringent OSHA requirements.

RapidAir, an industrial grade compressed air solutions provider, has introduced Vairify Breathing Air Products to its solutions line to help streamline automotive paint booth operations. The Vairify Carbon Monoxide Monitor and Filtration Panel uses a three-stage filtration process to purify compressor air, ensuring clean, safe Grade D breathing air for respiratory protection.

RapidAir’s newest solution will be on display at the SEMA Show Booth #36053, October 31- November 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The problem: hazardous breathing conditions

Hazardous breathing conditions exist in many routine industrial operations, including paint spraying/paint booths, confined spaces, woodworking, chemical manufacturing, abrasive blasting, industrial cleaning, arc welding and hospitals. These conditions pose a threat to employee safety and increase risk factors within organizations. Operating without a proper breathing air supply is unsafe and typically against safety regulations. Breathing in these contaminants can result in serious health complications or even death.

The Solution: Vairify Breathing Air Systems

Vairify Breathing Air Systems are specifically designed to monitor for carbon monoxide and remove all other contaminants from compressor air, ensuring its suitability for respiratory breathing systems. RapidAir’s system ensures Grade D breathing air is provided, meeting or exceeding the stringent requirements set by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Vairify supports proven air quality across all markets, ensuring employee safety and mitigating business risk.

“Vairify Breathing Air Systems delivers clean, safe and reliable respiratory protection, allowing organizations to take control of safety and compliance to protect what matters most,” said Ken McGlauchlen, RapidAir CCO/Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “RapidAir is the only partner that delivers single source, industrial-grade, direct to market compressed air solutions and we are excited to introduce our newest solution at SEMA to help organizations streamline automotive operations.”

Regulatory compliance

Vairify by RapidAir overdelivers on OSHA compliance for Grade D breathing air. Current OSHA standards require that employers supply employees working in hazardous breathing conditions with atmosphere-supplying respirators that provide high-purity breathing air. In operations that introduce contaminants into the workplace, breathing air systems that include supplied-air respirators, air filtration systems and carbon monoxide monitors are frequently used for worker protection. Vairify breathing air systems are designed to meet OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.134(i)(1), including:

• Oxygen Content Percentage by Volume: Between 19.5 percent and 23.5 percent

• Hydrocarbon (oil and particulate): Maximum of 5 milligrams per cubic meter of air

• Carbon Monoxide: Maximum of 10 parts per million by volume

• Carbon Dioxide: Maximum of 1000 parts per million by volume

• Lack of noticeable odor
